Individual Therapy
Individual therapy provides a private, one-on-one setting where you can explore your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors with the support of an experienced, licensed therapist. I offer personalized counseling to help clients overcome emotional challenges, heal from past trauma, and improve their mental health.
Through individual therapy, you gain a deeper understanding of your inner world, learn to manage overwhelming feelings, and develop healthier patterns of thinking and behaving. This self-awareness and skill-building are essential for reducing stress, addressing anxiety or depression, and fostering a greater sense of purpose and fulfillment. The importance of individual therapy lies in its ability to promote emotional healing and empower personal growth, helping you live a more balanced, fulfilling life.

My Approach
I integrate three key evidence-based therapeutic approaches—Differentiation-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Family Systems Therapy—to address the unique needs of each client.
• Differentiation-Based Therapy: This approach focuses on helping individuals develop a stronger sense of self while maintaining healthy, emotionally balanced relationships. I work with clients to foster emotional resilience, guiding them in navigating their emotions and reactions in ways that enhance personal growth and relationship health. This approach is especially beneficial for those struggling with enmeshed relationships or difficulties in maintaining boundaries.

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT is an effective method for identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. I use CBT to help clients reframe maladaptive beliefs, manage anxiety or depression, and develop practical coping skills. CBT’s focus on present challenges and solutions makes it a valuable tool for immediate improvement and long-term change.

• Family Systems Therapy: This approach looks at how family dynamics influence an individual’s emotional well-being. By exploring patterns and roles within the family, I help clients understand how their relationships shape their emotions and behaviors. This insight allows clients to break free from negative cycles and create healthier, more fulfilling relationships with family members and others.
Through these integrated therapeutic approaches, I offer my clients a comprehensive framework to overcome emotional struggles, heal from past wounds, and build a life aligned with their values and goals.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do I know if I need individual therapy?
If you’re experiencing overwhelming emotions, feeling stuck in negative patterns, struggling with relationships, or dealing with stress, anxiety, or past trauma, therapy can provide valuable tools and insights. Therapy helps you gain clarity, manage emotions, and make positive changes in your life.
2. What can I expect during an individual therapy session?
Each session is a safe space where you can openly explore your thoughts and feelings. Stephanie, a licensed therapist, will guide the conversation to help you identify patterns, explore underlying emotions, and develop practical strategies to manage challenges. Sessions are collaborative and tailored to your specific needs.
3. How long does therapy take to see results?
The timeline varies for each individual based on their goals and the nature of the challenges being addressed. Some clients notice improvements within a few sessions, while others engage in therapy for a longer period to work through deeper issues. Stephanie will work with you to create a personalized plan that suits your journey.
4. Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?
I offer both in-person and virtual therapy sessions to accommodate your needs. Virtual sessions provide flexibility and convenience for those who prefer remote support, while in-person sessions allow for face-to-face interaction in a comfortable environment.
5. Will my therapy sessions remain confidential?
Absolutely. As a licensed psychotherapist, I adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines. Everything discussed in your sessions is private and protected unless there is a legal obligation to report (such as imminent harm to yourself or others).
6. What is differentiation-based therapy, and how can it help me?
Differentiation-based therapy focuses on helping individuals strengthen their sense of self and emotional regulation, especially in the context of relationships. It’s particularly useful for people who struggle with feeling overwhelmed by external pressures or find it difficult to maintain their own identity within relationships.
